My wife and I have the exact same device, regardless of the date of purchase. My MBP is one months later.
We're both really like them, and find the size is perfect for our needs, which are completely different.
My wife is surfing in particular, e-mail, office and administrative tasks that she is out the window of VMware for Windows using their offices required accounting and payroll software. I use the other side, my machine for the processing of 1080p video and photos 21megapixel here. To compensate for the size of the screen, I close my MacBook Pro to a 24 "display.
What I find strange is the difference in battery life, heat and WiFi reception of our machines to do when the exact same tasks.
My MBP has a maximum of 3.5 hours is a bit 'hot, receive the WiFi signal and really good. My wife stays cool MBP lasts 5.5 hours and is very weak WiFi reception.
To be honest, I do not know the MBP is better, or if both devices are defective, but again, we are still very satisfied with our machines!
